Mauritania–Saudi Arabia Investment Roundtable
As part of the official visit of H.E. Khalid Al-Falih, Minister of Investment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Investment Promotion Agency of Mauritania (APIM), in partnership with the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Development, organized an investment roundtable at the Diplomatic Academy of Nouakchott on October 8, 2025.
The event brought together a high-level Saudi delegation composed of senior public officials and private investors, alongside numerous Mauritanian institutional and economic actors, including members of the government, the President of the National Union of Mauritanian Employers (UNPM), and the President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Mauritania (CCIAM).
In his opening remarks, Dr. Tah Ahmed Meouloud, Director General of APIM, highlighted the strategic dimension of the relations between the two countries, emphasizing the alignment between Mauritania’s national priorities and Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.He reaffirmed Mauritania’s commitment to offering an attractive, competitive, and secure investment environment, and called for “building an economic partnership based on trust, transparency, and shared interests.”
The Deputy Director General, Mr. Habiboullah Mohamed Ahmed, presented the progress achieved in improving the business climate, the incentive framework, and investment opportunities aligned with the Saudi market — particularly in the energy, mining, agriculture, livestock, fisheries, tourism, and infrastructure sectors.
Finally, sectoral B2B and B2G meetings enabled targeted exchanges with representatives of the relevantnational government departments around identified projects, with the aim of fostering sustainable partnerships.
