Signing of a New Agreement Between APIM and UNDP
Yesterday, Ms. Aissata Lam, Director General of the Investment Promotion Agency of Mauritania (APIM), and Mr. Mansour Ndiaye, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Mauritania, signed a partnership agreement to set up a new program to support APIM in promoting inclusive and sustainable growth in the country.
The project entitled ”Technical and Institutional Support for The Investment Promotion Agency of Mauritania”, aims to assist APIM in implementing its strategic and operational plan for the period 2022-2025.
The main objectives of this project are:
- Development of an investment map focused on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in priority sectors.
- Strengthening APIM’s capacity to develop the national private sector and attract foreign investment.
- Setting up a young graduates program within APIM, with an internship offer for young female graduates to give them a first experience and therefore improving their employability, in conjunction with the UNDP-supported MOURAVAGHA program.
The program, which runs from May 2023 to May 2024, demonstrates APIM and UNDP’s collaboration and commitment to promoting inclusive growth and sustainable development in Mauritania.
