Private Sector Forum | Nouakchott, 25 March 2026

The Investment Promotion Agency of Mauritania, in collaboration with the African Development Bank Group, organized an information workshop dedicated to the private sector, focusing on African Development Bank financing instruments and the Agency’s facilitation and support mechanisms.

The opening ceremony brought together the Minister of Mines and Industry, the Minister of Livestock Development, the Minister of Economic Affairs and Development, as well as the Director General of the Agency and the African Development Bank Deputy Director General for the Northern Region.

The event gathered over 100 participants from the public and private sectors, financial institutions, and technical and financial partners, reflecting the growing interest in investment in Mauritania.

— Presentation by the Agency on its role in facilitating investment, its support mechanisms, and the legal and institutional framework
— Presentation by the African Development Bank Group on its private sector development strategy, financing instruments, and regional integration orientations
— Case studies by the National Industrial and Mining Company and the Commercial and Industrial Bank illustrating the concrete impact of African Development Bank financing in Mauritania
— Questions & Answers session to respond to participants’ inquiries

On the sidelines of the workshop:
— 19 B2B meetings between the African Development Bank private sector teams and project promoters enabled direct exchanges and opened avenues for project financing
