The Mauritanian government has made the promotion of the private sector and the improvement of the business climate in general a central pillar of its development strategies, including the most recent one adopted for the period 2016-2030, namely the Strategy for Accelerated Growth and Shared Prosperity (SCAPP).
Recently, a dedicated agency with administrative and financial autonomy was created for the Promotion of Investments in Mauritania. This will strengthen the institutional framework for investment while providing better support to domestic and foreign investors.
