On September 30th and October 1st, the Investment Promotion Agency of Mauritania (APIM) participated in the first edition of the Senegal–Mauritania Economic Forum, held in Dakar under the theme “Economic Integration in the Context of the Energy Transition and the Role of the Private Sectors of Both Countries.”

During a Country Focus session, Mrs. Aïssata Lam, Director General of APIM, presented investment opportunities in Mauritania, highlighting the vast potential in productive sectors, renewable energies, services, and extractive industries, as well as the support offered to investors.

Mrs. Lam also announced progress in the ongoing revision of the Investment Code, stating that the new version will be presented before the end of the year and will meet investors’ expectations in terms of benefits, incentives, and guarantees.

In addition, APIM participated in the exhibition accompanying the forum, with a booth dedicated to presenting investment opportunities in Mauritania, ways to exploit them, as well as the preferential advantages and incentives offered to investors.

On the sidelines of the forum, the Director General signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with her Senegalese counterpart, Mr. Bakary Sega Bathily, Director General of the Investment Promotion and Major Works Agency (APIX), to strengthen cooperation between the two institutions in terms of investment and expertise exchange.
