The Investment Promotion Agency of Mauritania (APIM) took part in the U.S.-Mauritania Business Forum, held in Nouakchott from October 5 to 7, 2026, and organized by the Washington Insight Group (WIG) and the National Employers’ Union of Mauritania (UNPM).
Bringing together Mauritanian public and private sector stakeholders, as well as U.S. companies and experts, the Forum focused on partnership and investment opportunities, particularly in agriculture, energy, infrastructure, digital technologies, and defense.
At the opening session, APIM Director General, Dr Tah Ahmed Meouloud, presented the reforms undertaken to make investing in Mauritania simpler, faster, and more predictable, as well as the country’s commitment to transparency and compliance.
APIM teams also engaged with U.S. participants on the business climate, investment opportunities, and the support mechanisms available to investors.
The mission continues with business meetings and institutional exchanges focused on projects and partnerships. The U.S. delegation will also be welcomed at APIM headquarters this week to further explore the opportunities identified and discuss next steps.
