On July 13 and 14, 2026, the Investment Promotion Agency of Mauritania (APIM) is co-organizing the Regional Health Investment Forum – Mauritania 2026 alongside the Ministry of Health, the Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT), and the World Health Organization (WHO).
The opening ceremony was held in the presence of H.E. Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of WHO, H.E. Mr. Tijani Thiam, Minister of Health of Mauritania, several Ministers of Health from OIC Member States, representatives of development finance institutions, technical and financial partners, as well as investors and private sector stakeholders.
On this occasion, APIM Director General Dr Tah Ahmed Meouloud called for positioning Mauritania as a regional health hub, highlighting the country’s potential and the opportunities available to investors.
On the sidelines of the Forum, APIM organized an “Invest in Mauritania” session, which showcased investment opportunities and strategic projects in the health and pharmaceutical sectors.
The Forum was also marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between APIM and the World Health Organization (WHO), establishing a cooperation framework to strengthen synergies around the development of investments in Mauritania’s health sector.
During the official visit to the exhibition area, the APIM team presented to the WHO Director-General, the Minister of Health, and the official delegation the Agency’s missions and services, the objectives of its participation in the Forum, as well as the key development prospects for the health and pharmaceutical sectors in Mauritania.
Throughout the Forum, APIM teams remain mobilized at the institutional stand to facilitate discussions with investors and partners attending the event and contribute to transforming identified opportunities into concrete projects that support the development of Mauritania’s health sector.
